Small jobs, done right

Handyman and Home Repair Services in Missoula, Montana

The repairs that keep a Missoula house working: sticking doors, drywall patches, rotted trim, loose railings, roof leaks, gutter clearing and the rest of the list, handled by carpenters who show up when they say they will.

Every house in Missoula has a list. The back door that will not latch since the house settled, the deck board that finally split, the bathroom fan that stopped, the fascia the squirrels chewed, the gutter that dumps onto the walkway and turns it into an ice rink by December. Constructive Brothers sends a carpenter rather than a general laborer, so the fix gets done the way it should: the door gets planed and rehung on the right hinges, and the railing gets through-bolted to the framing at 36 inches. We book half-day and full-day blocks so you can hand us the whole list at once and get it done in one visit.

Because we are a renovation crew, the handyman side is also how we catch the bigger problems early. A soft spot on the deck is usually a ledger that was never flashed. A drip stain on the ceiling after a warm spell is often an ice dam from a poorly insulated attic rather than a roof failure, and we can fix the cause instead of just painting over the stain. We handle roofing repair, gutter clearing and soft washing, power washing, fence and gate repair, drywall and paint, and the seasonal work that comes with owning a house in a place with real winters. If a job turns out to be bigger than a visit, you get a fixed-scope quote before we go further.

Handyman work in Missoula runs $95 to $135 per hour for a carpenter with a half-day minimum of around $450, so a typical list of six to ten small repairs lands between $450 and $1,200 plus materials, with roofing repair and rot replacement priced by the job.

Why Us

Why Missoula Homeowners Choose Us for Handyman & Home Repairs

A carpenter shows up

The person fixing your door or deck board has framed houses and hung trim for a living. That means the repair matches the original work and holds, rather than a quick patch that needs redoing next spring.

One visit, whole list

We book half-day and full-day blocks and ask you to send the list ahead of time so we arrive with the right materials. Ten small jobs in one trip cost far less than ten separate service calls.

Winter-ready exterior work

Missoula winters find every weak spot. Fall visits cover gutter clearing, downspout extensions, exterior caulking, weatherstripping, checking the roof for lifted shingles and getting the deck steps and porch railings tight before ice makes them dangerous.

Honest about the bigger fix

If the drywall crack is a foundation problem or the leaking window needs siding pulled back, we say so and price the real repair. You decide whether to patch it for now or fix it properly, with a clear number for both.

Our Process

How a Handyman & Home Repairs Project Runs

Send the list

Text or email your list with a few photos. We tell you whether it fits a half-day or full-day block, what materials we will bring, and the price before anyone drives over.

Book the block

You get a date and a window, and the same carpenter who quoted it shows up in that window. If we are running late, you hear from us before the appointment time rather than after.

Work through the list

We start with anything affecting safety or water, like a loose railing or an active leak, then move through the rest in the order that makes sense for drying times and dust.

Walk-through and notes

Before we leave, we walk you through what was done and point out anything we noticed that you should keep an eye on, like a sagging gutter or a deck ledger worth checking next season.

FAQs

Handyman & Home Repairs Questions, Answered

What kind of repairs do you handle?
Interior: doors that stick or will not latch, drywall patches and texture, trim repair, loose stair treads, cabinet doors and drawers, caulk and grout, shelving, closet rods, and mounting heavy items into studs. Exterior: rotted trim and fascia, deck board and railing repair, fence and gate fixes, gutter clearing and downspout extensions, roof leak repair and shingle replacement, soft washing and power washing, and weatherstripping. If it involves wood, drywall or water getting where it should not, it is probably on our list.
Do you do electrical and plumbing repairs?
We handle the carpentry side of those jobs and simple like-for-like swaps such as a faucet, a bathroom fan or a light fixture where no new wiring or plumbing is needed. Anything involving new circuits, panel work, moving supply lines or drains goes to the licensed electricians and plumbers we work with, and we can coordinate them for you as part of a larger repair. We will tell you up front which category your job falls in.
Can you fix a roof leak or do I need a roofer?
For a lifted shingle, a failed pipe boot, a cracked vent flashing or an ice dam leak, we can find it and repair it, usually in a single visit. We also repair the interior damage, since a roofer will not patch your ceiling. If the roof is at the end of its life, with widespread granule loss or multiple layers, we will say so and recommend a full replacement, which is a job for a roofing company rather than a repair crew.
Do you serve areas outside Missoula?
Yes. We run handyman blocks in Missoula, Lolo, Florence, Stevensville, Victor, Corvallis, Hamilton, Frenchtown, Bonner, Clinton, Seeley Lake and Arlee. For the farther towns in the Bitterroot and up toward Seeley Lake we usually group visits by area and ask for a full-day block so the drive time does not eat your budget. Call (406) 207-2524 with your address and the list, and we will tell you when we are next in your area.
