What We Build

From a New Deck to a Whole-House Renovation

Framing, finish carpentry, decks, additions and remodels, handled by the same crew that quoted it.

Custom Decks

Composite and cedar decks framed to carry Missoula snow loads, with flashed ledgers, footings below frost and railings that pass inspection the first time. One crew handles design, permits and construction.

Custom Decks →

Home Renovation & Remodeling

Whole-house and multi-room renovations for Missoula's older housing stock, run by the carpenters who do the work. We open walls and fix what the last owner hid, then finish to a standard that passes inspection the first time.

Home Renovation & Remodeling →

Framing

Carpenters who frame additions, garages, ADUs and full remodels from the mudsill up, sized for Missoula snow loads and detailed so the framing inspection is a formality rather than a fight.

Framing →

Home Additions

Bedroom additions, second stories, primary suites and mudroom bump-outs for growing Missoula families, built on frost-depth footings, tied into the existing structure correctly and finished so the seam between old and new disappears.

Home Additions →

ADUs & Garages

Detached ADUs, garages with living space above and workshop garages built on Missoula lots under the new state and city rules, framed for snow load and finished so they appraise well and pass inspection without drama.

ADUs & Garages →

Historic Home Restoration

Restoration carpentry for Missoula's pre-war houses: rebuilt porches, repaired double-hung windows, matched siding and trim, and structural fixes done in a way that keeps what makes the house worth saving.

Historic Home Restoration →

Kitchen Remodels

From opening up a closed-off 1950s kitchen to a full gut with new layout, cabinets, tile and lighting, our carpenters handle the structure and the finish work themselves, so the schedule holds and the details line up.

Kitchen Remodels →

Bathroom Remodels

Tile showers, soaking tubs, double vanities and proper ventilation, built by carpenters who treat waterproofing as the job and the tile as the reward. Fixed-scope quotes and one crew from demo to the last bead of silicone.

Bathroom Remodels →

Finish Carpentry & Trim

Baseboard, casing, crown, wainscot, built-ins and stair parts fitted by carpenters who scribe to wavy old plaster instead of hiding gaps under a bead of caulk. Paint-grade or stain-grade, matched to the age of your house.

Why Constructive Brothers

A Crew That Frames, Finishes and Sticks Around

Most renovation problems in Missoula come from a sales office that quotes the job and a rotating cast of subs who build it. We are the carpenters. The people who walk your project are the people who swing the hammers.

  • Fixed-scope quotes in writing. You know what is included before anyone picks up a saw.
  • Built for this climate. 42-inch frost footings, flashed ledgers, snow-load framing and vapor detailing that passes inspection the first time.
  • Older homes welcome. Sistered joists, matched trim, level floors in houses that have not been level since 1950.
  • One crew, start to finish. Demo, framing, finish and punch list handled by the same people.
  • 2-year workmanship warranty on everything we build, and a phone that gets answered after the job is done.

Common Questions

Straight Answers Before You Spend a Dollar

What does a deck cost in Missoula?
Most of the decks we build run $12,000 to $45,000. A simple 12-by-16 pressure-treated deck with a code rail sits at the low end. A multi-level composite deck with cable rail, stairs and a covered section sits at the top. Frost-depth footings, site access and railing choice move the number more than square footage does. We give a fixed-scope quote in writing after a site visit.
Do you take on older homes?
Yes, and we prefer them. A lot of Missoula's housing stock went up between 1900 and 1975, and those houses need carpenters who can sister joists, match trim profiles, and open a wall without guessing what is behind it. Restoration and renovation of older homes is a core part of our work.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Constructive Brothers is a registered Montana contractor and carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Certificates are available on request, and we pull permits in our own name on every job that needs one.
How soon can you start?
Repairs and small carpentry jobs usually land within one to two weeks. Decks, additions and remodels book several weeks to a few months out depending on the season, with spring and summer filling first. A signed proposal and deposit holds your slot on the calendar.
